AI jewelry photos on Google Shopping: what’s allowed

Google Shopping allows AI-generated and AI-edited product images and offers its own tool for them, Product Studio. There is one hard rule: images made with generative AI must keep the metadata that marks them as AI-generated, such as the IPTC DigitalSourceType tag, so don't strip it when you edit or compress the file. Every image must still show the product accurately, and the main image can't be a mockup or illustration that doesn't show the physical piece.

The jewelry photos that do well on Google Shopping start as a real photo of the piece you are selling. From there, AI photo editing does the slow work: it swaps a cluttered table for a clean white or styled background, evens out the lighting, brings back the sparkle in the stones and can show the piece worn on a model. What stays the same is the piece itself, so check that the metal color, stone count and size in the finished image match what the buyer will open.

That is how Hues works. You upload your own product photo, and every image it makes is built from that photo, ready for your Google Shopping listing.
