Alternatives

gemzy alternatives for jewelry: what to use instead

gemzy is a jewelry-only AI photo app for iPhone and Android with on-model shots, clean product shots and short motion clips. Sellers usually look for an alternative for one of three reasons: it is a phone app billed through the App Store or Google Play, it doesn't publish how many credits an image costs, and its 4K output starts on the $40-a-month Pro plan. The alternatives below cover those gaps: Hues AI for a browser studio on one-off credit packs, Photta for on-model shots across several product types, and Nimora for jewelry CAD files. Hues AI is our own product; every other figure here is as the vendor publishes it.

1

Hues AI

Our pick

Best for Jewelers who want a browser studio with try-on, retouching and video, without a subscription

Built only for jewelry and used in the browser. Hues puts a piece on a model (rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, watches and sets), or a ring or necklace on a photo of your own hand or neckline, retouches dust and glare, changes metal color, renders from a CAD render or screenshot or a sketch, and makes product video, with output up to 4000×4000 px (16 MP) on its highest-quality photo tier. Credits are bought once, from $17.50 for 500, and don't expire. New accounts get 80 free credits after email verification, with no card.

2

Photta

Best for Sellers with jewelry and apparel in one catalog

A multi-category studio with a dedicated Jewelry Studio for rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets on AI models, separate watch workflows, and the option to upload a photo of your own adult model. It publishes its credit costs: a jewelry try-on image is 5 credits at 2K and 6 at 4K. The free start is 20 credits, about 4 to 5 watermarked images, valid for 30 days.

3

Nimora

Best for Jewelers who also need a printable CAD file

Jewelry-only and priced in rupees and dollars, with on-model shoots, video and a CAD Studio that turns a sketch or photo into STL and STEP files. It sells one-time credit packs from $19.99 for 1,000 credits; a 1K image is 20 credits and a 4K image 70. 4K export and CAD need an annual membership, and files are kept for 7 days unless you pay for storage.

What gemzy does well

gemzy is prompt-free: you pick a model and a look instead of writing a prompt. It offers 15+ curated AI models, clean or editorial shots without a model, Motion clips for Reels and ads, and an Edit Mode for size, placement, pose, lighting, shine and upscaling. It states that you own your uploads and generated images, that commercial use is allowed, and that your images aren't used to train its models. Its own page also tells you to check stones, prongs and engravings in each result, which is good advice for any AI tool.

Why jewelry sellers look for an alternative

  • Phone app only: the site lists iOS and Android, and subscriptions are managed through the App Store or Google Play
  • The pricing page lists credits per plan but not credits per image, so the cost of one image can't be worked out before you buy
  • 4K output is on Pro ($40 a month) and Designer ($90 a month) only; Free and Starter get basic models
  • Refunds are at gemzy's discretion by email, on top of app-store policy
  • No CAD input, API or try-on on your own photo is listed

gemzy's plans, for comparison

Free is $0 with 40 credits a month, basic models and a limited queue. Starter is $13 a month for 120 credits, Pro $40 a month for 600 credits with every model and 4K, and Designer $90 a month for 1,400 credits. There is a 3-day Pro trial with 100 credits, and annual billing "applies a 20% saving".

How we checked

The verdict

If you shoot and post from your phone and want curated models with no prompts, gemzy is a reasonable choice. If you want to work in a browser, pay once instead of monthly, or know the cost of an image before you buy, Hues AI fits better, and it adds ring and necklace try-on on your own photo, retouching, CAD renders and video. Photta suits mixed catalogs, and Nimora suits jewelers who also need a printable CAD file.
