Photta vs gemzy for jewelry photos

Choose gemzy if you work from your phone and want a jewelry-only app with curated models and no prompts. Choose Photta if you work in a browser, sell clothing as well as jewelry, or want to know the credit cost of each image before you buy. Both put jewelry on AI models and both offer 4K. The table compares them on the points that decide it, as each publishes them. A third option, Hues AI, is our own product, and we describe it separately below the table.

Where they differ most

The platform decides it for most sellers. gemzy is an app, so you shoot, generate and post from one phone, and you pay through the App Store or Google Play. Photta runs in a browser, which suits batch work at a desk and catalogs that include clothing, eyewear or footwear alongside jewelry.

Cost transparency is the second difference. Photta publishes what each job costs in credits, so you can work out the price of an image before you buy. gemzy lists credits per plan but not credits per image.

Photta's credit rules are worth reading first

Photta's own pages describe unused credits three ways: the pricing page says each month's credits last sixty days, its FAQ describes a 30-day rollover on annual plans only, and its credits page and terms say subscription credits expire at the end of each billing period. One-off credit packs never expire. Ask Photta which rule applies to your plan before you buy a large one.

A third option: Hues AI

Hues AI is our own product, so it is not in the table. It is built only for jewelry and runs in the browser. It does on-model shots, ring and necklace try-on on a photo of your own hand or neckline, retouching, metal color changes, renders from a CAD render or screenshot or a sketch, and product video, with output up to 4000×4000 px (16 MP) on its highest-quality photo tier. Credits are bought once, from $17.50 for 500, and don't expire, and new accounts get 80 free credits after email verification.

How we checked

Each figure was read on the vendor's own site on 29 October 2026. Photta's site showed prices in local currency from our connection, so its dollar price is the one read on 12 October 2026. Prices and plans change, so confirm them with the vendor before you buy.

The verdict

Pick gemzy for a phone-first, jewelry-only workflow with curated models. Pick Photta for browser work, mixed catalogs and published per-image costs, after checking its credit expiry rule for your plan. If you want jewelry-specific retouching, CAD renders and credits that don't expire, try Hues AI with its free credits.

Frequently asked questions

gemzy Starter is $13 a month for 120 credits (29 October 2026). Photta's Hobby plan is 150 credits, or 30 product photos, a month; it was listed at $14 a month when we last saw dollar prices, on 12 October 2026. Photta publishes that a jewelry try-on image costs 5 credits at 2K; gemzy doesn't publish a per-image cost, so a like-for-like price per image can't be worked out from its site.

gemzy's Free plan gives 40 credits a month with basic models, plus a 3-day Pro trial with 100 credits. Photta gives 20 credits once, about 4 to 5 watermarked images, valid for 30 days.

Photta's Jewelry Studio lets you upload a photo of your own adult model. gemzy lists curated AI models and no own-photo option.
