How to measure

  1. 1

Measure where the anklet will sit

Wrap a soft tape measure around your ankle at the spot where you plan to wear the anklet. Guides differ on the exact spot (just above, over or just below the ankle bone), so measure where you will actually wear it.

  2. 2

Keep the tape flat, not tight

The tape should lie against the skin without pulling. With no tape, wrap a piece of string around your ankle, mark where the ends meet and measure the string against a ruler.

  3. 3

    Add your allowance

Add about 1/2 inch for a close fit, 3/4 inch for everyday wear or 1 inch for a loose drape, then pick the nearest anklet length in the table.

Ankle size versus anklet size

Your ankle size is the measurement around your ankle. Your anklet size is the length of the anklet itself, which needs some room to move, so every guide listed below adds an allowance to the ankle measurement.
